Santiago-Hudson Will Moderate Shakespeare on Film and Appear in CSC’s First Look Festival

Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson will be making two one-night-only appearances in New York in the coming weeks. On Monday, November 14 at 6:30pm, he and New York Times writer Jesse McKinley wil be the moderators of The Shakespeare Society’s program Shakespeare on Film: Othello at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College. The event will include film clips of Orson Welles, Laurence Olivier, and Laurence Fishburne playing the famed Shakespeare character.

On Monday, December 5 at 8pm, Santiago-Hudson will star in a staged reading of Philip Masinger’s The Roman Actor as part of Classic Stage Company’s First Look Festival. Directed by John Dias, the play focuses on Paris, Rome’s greatest actor, who is having an affair with the Emperor’s wife. The other offerings in the Festival are Thomas Kyd’s The Spanish Tragedy, starring Bill Camp (November 21, 8pm), and John Marston’s Antonio’s Revenge, starring Michael Stuhlbarg and Tom Hewitt (November 28, 8pm).
