Ring of Fire‘s Broadway Opening Set for March 12

Ring of Fire, featuring the music of country legend Johnny Cash, will begin performances at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre on February 8 and will open officially on March 12. The show will be directed by Richard Maltby, Jr., who created it with William Meade.

Tony Award winner Jarrod Emick, Grammy Award winner Lari White, and Broadway veteran Cass Morgan head the cast, which also includes Eric Anthony, Jeb Brown, Laurie Canaan, Jason Edwards, Dan Immel, Ron Krasinski, Jeff Lisenby, David M. Lutken, Beth Malone, Brent Moyer, and Randy Redd.

Ring of Fire will have musical direction by Lisenby and choreography by Lisa Shriver. The design team includes Neil Patel (sets), David C. Woolard (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting), Peter Fitzgerald and Carl Casella (sound), and Michael Clark (projections). The show brings to the stage stories told in such Johnny Cash songs as “Country Boy,” “A Thing Called Love,” “Five Feet High and Rising,” “Daddy Sang Bass,” “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk the Line,” “I’ve Been Everywhere,” and “The Man in Black.”
