Kevin Kline to Perform and Discuss Shakespeare at CSC Benefit

Tony and Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Kline will star in The Readiness Is All: A Shakespearean Actor’s Process, a special benefit evening for Classic Stage Company, at 7pm on Monday, November 7 at the company’s home, 136 East 13th Street.

The event will be moderated by CSC’s former artistic director, Barry Edelstein. Kline will share with the audience his process of preparing a Shakespearean role from rehearsal to performance. The evening will include a Q&A session.

Kline’s Shakespearean roles include Falstaff in the Lincoln Center production of Henry IV; Friar Pete in the 1973 Broadway production of Measure for Measure, directed by John Houseman; and Hamlet, Benedick, Richard III, and Henry V for The Public Theater. The actor received Tony Awards for his performances in On the Twentieth Century and The Pirates of Penzance, and the Academy Award for his work in A Fish Called Wanda. His other films include Sophie’s Choice, Delovely, and The Ice Storm.
