Talk show celebrity Jerry Springer will host The Great American Trailer Park Pageant at Dodger Stages on Thursday, November 17 from 4 to 6pm. Proceeds from the event, which is being sponsored by The Great American Trailer Park Musical, will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The aim of the contest is to crown New York City’s very own king or queen of the trailer park. Contestants will each have 90 seconds to display their unique trailer park talent (such as singing, hula-hooping or beer-chugging) and will also be judged on their outfits and trailer trash personalities. The winner will become the musical’s official spokesperson and will represent the show at all future regional and international productions. Other prizes will include cases of Pabst Beer, dinner at Spanky’s BBQ, a year’s supply of Moonpies, and a year’s supply of Dean’s Beans coffee.

Village Voice columnist Michael Musto will be one of the pageant’s judges; others are yet to be named. To submit yourself for the contest, e-mail trailerparknyc@gmail.com with a photo and description of your unique talent and trailer trash character/personality.

Tickets to the pageant are $10 each. Beginning tomorrow, November 3, they may be ordered through www.broadwaycares.org or by calling BC/EFA at 212-840-0770 x. 268.
