Lynn Cohen, Lauren Flanigan, Cherry Jones, Ellen Lauren, Kelly Maurer, and Debra Winger will participate in An Evening with Sarah Bernhardt, a benefit for the Jewish Museum and the SITI Company, to take place on Monday, December 12 at 7:30pm at the Jewish Museum (1109 Fifth Avenue).
The event, to be directed by SITI founder Anne Bogart, will include readings and musical selections associated with the legendary French actress. The Museum is presenting an exhibition, Sarah Bernhardt: The Art of High Drama, December 2-April 2. Among its mementos are a handkerchief currently owned by Jones that once belonged to Bernhardt, as well as posters, costumes, and personal items. Attendees of the benefit will be able to view the exhibition for one hour prior to the performance; there will also be a post-performance supper with the artists.
Tickets to the benefit are $250, and can be ordered by calling 212-423-3278.
