Busch, Ebersole, Egan, Pawk, et al. Set for Birdland’s Winter Season

Jim Caruso and TheaterMania.com have announced the Winter Season of concerts featuring top Broadway/cabaret performers and songwriters at Birdland (315 West 44th Street). All concerts will take place on Mondays, with one exception, and all will begin at 7pm. The lineup is as follows:

Monday, November 14: Under the Covers With Victoria Shaw
Shaw plus composers Gary Burr and Bob DiPiero celebrate Country Music Week by performing such hits as “How Far,” “To Be Loved By You,” and “The River.”

Monday, November 28: Charles Busch and Julie Halston
Busch and Halston will perform songs and sketches as well as reminisce about their 20-year friendship and the creation of the long-running cult show Vampire Lesbians of Sodom.

Monday, December 5: Susan Egan
Broadway star Egan (Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast) will sing songs from her past shows, tunes from her CD Coffee House, and material by some of New York’s hippest young writers.

Monday, December 12: Natalie Douglas
This six-time MAC award winner returns to Birdland with an all-new show.

Tuesday, December 20: Christmas With Christine Ebersole & Billy Stritch
The Tony Award-winning star of 42nd Street and the popular jazz pianist re-team for a new show of holiday favorites, standards, and show tunes.

Monday, January 2: Mylinda Hull
Hull, who recently took over the role of Nickie in Sweet Charity, and Her Lucky Seven will perform theater songs in funny, sexy, jazzy arrangements.

Monday, January 9: Ann Harada, Leah Hocking, and Michele Pawk

Three Broadway divas team up for an evening of songs, stories, and unbridled mayhem.

Monday, January 30: Darius de Haas
The brilliant Broadway singer will perform material from his cabaret shows devoted to the music of Stevie Wonder and Billy Strayhorn, along with original songs.

Cover charges for these concerts range from $25 to $40, and there is a $10 food/drink minimum for each show. Jim Caruso’s Cast Party, the weekly open-mic extravaganza, will follow each of the Monday concerts. A full dinner menu is available at Birdland every night until 1am.
