Irving Berlin’s Miss Liberty has been added to the York Theatre’s Musicals in Mufti series of staged concert performances. The production, to be directed by Michael Montel, will run December 9-11.

As previously reported, the current Mufti series will also include Theda Bara and the Frontier Rabbi by Jeff Hochauser and Bob Johnston, directed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett (December 4-6); and the New York premiere of Mirette, with a score by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, directed by Drew Scott Harris (December 16-18). No casting for these shows has yet been announced.

With a book by Robert Sherwood, Miss Liberty is set in Paris in 1895 and focuses on a New York newspaper reporter who tries to find the model who posed for the statue. The musical opened on Broadway in 1949 and ran for more than 300 performances; that production was directed by Moss Hart, choerographed by Jerome Robbbins, and starred Ediie Albert and Mary McCarty.

Individual tickets for each show in the Musicals in Mufti series are priced at $40; to purchase them, call 212-868-4444.
