Stars Set for Encores! 10th Anniversary Concert

Kristin Chenoweth, Tyne Daly, Christine Ebersole, Melissa Errico, Rebecca Luker, Idina Menzel, Donna Murphy, Bebe Neuwirth, Ann Reinking, Brent Barrett, Philip Bosco, Stanley Wayne Mathis, Howard McGillin, and Patrick Wilson are slated to appear in City Center Encores! 10th Anniversary Bash. This concert of “the best numbers from all of the past nine years of Encores! concerts” will have three performances: Sunday, November 24 at 2pm and 7:30pm, and Monday, November 25 at 7:30pm at City Center, located on West 55th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues.

All of the stars listed for the event have appeared in one or more of the 27 staged concert versions of American musicals that Encores! has presented since its inception in 1994. The 10th Anniversary Bash will be created by Encores! artistic director Jack Viertel and music director Rob Fisher in collaboration with City Center president and executive director Judith Daykin. The concert will be staged by Kathleen Marshall.

The new season of Encores! will begin February 13-16 with House of Flowers (music by Harold Arlen, lyrics by Truman Capote and Arlen, and book by Capote), directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall. Next up, March 27-30, will be The New Moon (music by Sigmund Romberg, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Frank Mandel, and Laurence Schwab), directed by Gary Griffin. The three-show season will close with No Strings (music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers, book by Samuel Taylor), directed and choreographed by Ann Reinking, set to run May 8-11 with an additional gala performance on May 12.
