Hilary Knight to Appear at Eloise Exhibition/Signing at the Plaza Hotel

An exhibition of Hilary Knight’s original artwork for Eloise Takes a Bawth, including some drawings that were not used for the book and three new Eloise prints, will be presented by Giraffics Gallery of East Hampton at (where else?) the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan on Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30, from 12 noon to 5:30pm. Knight will be present on both days, from 2 to 4pm, to sign books and prints purchased at the event.

The latest in the long-popular series of books about a precocious young girl who’s a permanent guest at the Plaza, Eloise Takes a Bawth was written by the late author, nightclub star, and Hollywood vocal arranger Kay Thompson, with additional material by Mart Crowley. Like all of the previous books, this new best-seller was illustrated by Knight, who also provided inimitable artwork for such Broadway musical posters and album covers as No, No, Nanette, Irene, Sugar Babies, and I Love My Wife.

The Eloise exhibition will be held in the Rose Room at the Plaza on the 29th and 30th, and is free and open to the public. Eloise would be very surprised if she had to tell you that the hotel is located at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue. For additional information, phone the Giraffics Gallery at 631-329-0803.
