A 1978 investigation of the Shroud of Turin is the subject of The Shroud, a new play by Michael Kassin. Arts and Artists at St. Paul’s will present a reading of the play at the Donnell Library Theater on Monday, December 2, at 2:30pm.

Dan Lauria (of television’s The Wonder Years) heads the cast of the reading as Red Broida, a scientist dying of cancer who is obsessed with disproving the authenticity of the Shroud. Adriana Sevan, Hal Robinson, and Tom Beckett round out the cast. (The Shroud of Turin was also the subject of the short-lived 1986 Broadway musical Into the Light, starring Dean Jones.)

The Donnell Library Theater is located at 20 West 53rd Street. Admission to the reading is free and seating will be on a first come, first served basis. For additional information, phone John Znidarsic, artistic director of Arts and Artists at St. Paul’s, at 212-265-3495, ext. 218.
