Wallace Shawn's Grasses of a Thousand Colors Receives Two-Week Extension at The Public

The Public Theater has announced that its American premiere of Wallace Shawn's Grasses of a Thousand Colors, a coproduction with Theatre for a New Audience, has been extended for two weeks. The production, in which Wallace Shawn (My Dinner With André) also acts, was originally scheduled to close on November 10. It will now run an additional two weeks through November 24.

Grasses of a Thousand Colors is part of The Wallace Shawn-André Gregory Project and will be directed by André Gregory. The play follows Ben, a doctor who believes he has solved world hunger when he figures out how to rejigger the metabolisms of animals to tolerate eating their own kind, in what is described as "a disturbing and anomalously beautiful" tale.

In addition to Shawn, the cast will feature Julie Hagerty (Morning's at Seven), Jennifer Tilly (Don't Dress for Dinner), Emily Cass McDonnell, and Kristina Mueller.
