The Public Theater's plans to remount Here Lies Love have been delayed because of venue and scheduling difficulties, according to the New York Times. The production requires an unconventional venue for its staging, designed by Alex Timbers (Rocky).

Set in a disco club, the audience will follow the action of the story on foot. Oskar Eustis, the Public's artistic director, has been pursuing two venues for a potential transfer: a movie theater on Second Avenue, and a space in the Hotel Pennsylvania. Terms were unable to be reached.

The critically acclaimed immersive musical, based on the life of Imelda Marcos, began performances at the Public Theater in April and played through July. Featuring a score and lyrics by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, the production starred Ruthie Ann Miles as the former Filipina First Lady, and Jose Llana (Flower Drum Song) as husband and dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
