With its Kickstarter campaign fully funded, the original cast recording of David and Joseph Zellnik's off-Broadway musical Yank! will be released on the PS Classics label on January 21.

Yank! follows the love story of Stu, a Midwestern boy who becomes a reporter for the Army magazine Yank, and a fellow soldier, Mitch. The World War II-era musical explores prejudice, courage, and survival long before the phrase "don't ask, don't tell" was part of the national discussion.

The 2010 premiere production at the York Theatre was the recipient of Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Lucille Lortel nominations for Best Musical. The musical was revised after its initial run, with three songs added and new orchestrations provided by Jonathan Tunick.

The recording, set for mid-November, will reunite stars Bobby Steggert, Ivan Hernandez, Nancy Anderson, and Jeffry Denman, along with musical director Rob Berman.
