The Drama League has announced that it will be honoring Emmy Award winner and Broadway veteran Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Assassins) at the 30th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway, to be held on February 3, 2014, at the Pierre Hotel. Produced by Roger T. Danforth and Trevor Tamashiro, the black-tie event will feature Hollywood and Broadway stars who will perform musical selections that highlight moments from Harris' illustrious career in theater, film, and television. Proceeds will help support the Drama League's educational initiatives for promising young artists.

The evening's performances will be directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (American Idiot) and Johanna McKeon, the director and associate director, respectively, of the upcoming Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, in which Harris will star this spring. The musical revue will include numbers from Rent, Assassins, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, and Tick, Tick…Boom!, among other songs from Harris' musical theater repertoire.

"We are overjoyed to add Neil Patrick Harris to the legendary roster of artists who have been honored at the Musical Celebration of Broadway during the last thirty years," Drama League Executive Director Gabriel Shanks said in a statement. "After distinguishing himself in film, television, theater, web series, music, and as a staunch advocate for youth and arts education like that provided by The Drama League, Neil's return to Broadway this season is cause for celebration."

Harris will join a renowned group of past Drama League honorees including Liza Minnelli, Audra McDonald, Kristin Chenoweth, Angela Lansbury, Patti LuPone, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Chita Rivera, Rosie O'Donnell, and Terrence McNally.
