The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience production of Wallace Shawn's Grasses of a Thousand Colors began previews on October 7. The play, which has already been extended two weeks, is directed by André Gregory and is part of the Wallace Shawn-André Gregory Project.

Grasses of a Thousand Colors is a dystopian fantasy about an ecological disaster caused by a doctor who believes he has solved world hunger by allowing the metabolisms of animals to tolerate eating their own kind.

The play features Wallace Shawn, Julie Hagerty, Jennifer Tilly, Emily Cass McDonnell, and Kristina Mueller.
