Art Start, a non-profit created to nurture at-risk youth through creative arts, will present a benefit performance featuring eight NYC young people performing alongside some of New York’s most talented artists, 7pm October 14 at Carnegie Hall‘s Zankel Hall.

The event, entitled “Defying Gravity,” is guided by Mark Nadler, who has been working with the at-risk teens for the past few weeks, choreographing their numbers.

Nadler will join them on stage, along with other professional performers such as Andre De Shields, Tovah Feldshuh, Eden Espinosa, Sandra Reaves-Phillips, Marta Sanders, Sean Young, and Lauren Fox.

Proceeds will benefit Art Start.
