Manhattan Theatre Club will extend the world premiere musical Murder Ballad by one week, with the production now playing New York City Center’s The Studio at Stage II October 30-December 2, with an opening on November 15. Trip Cullman directs.

Conceived by Julia Jordan with book and lyrics by Jordan and music and lyrics by Juliana Nash, the musical centers on Sara, an Upper West Sider who seems to have it all, but whose downtown past lingers enticingly and dangerously in front of her.

The previously reported cast features John Ellison Conlee, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Karen Olivo, and Will Swenson.

The creative team includes Mark Wendland (scenic design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), Leon Rothenberg (sound design), Doug Varone (movement), and Justin Levine (music director, vocal arranger and orchestrator).
