Knock Me a Kiss Starring André De Shields to Kick Off Crossroads Theatre Company Season

Crossroads Theatre Company will kick of their 2012-2013 season with Charles Smith’s Knock Me a Kiss, starring André De Shields, to run October 25-November 4.

The show, which is directed by Chuck Smith, is set at the height of the Harlem Renaissance and shares the story of the “Wedding of the Century” between Yolande Du Bois and Countee Cullen, a poet and protégée of W.E.B. Du Bois (to be played by De Shields).

The production will feature Erin Cherry (Yolande Du Bois), Morocco Omari (Jimmy Lunceford), Marie Thomas (Nina Du Bois), Sean Phillips (Countee Cullen), and Gillian Glasco (Lenora).

The company’s season will also include Holiday Jubilee (December 6-16), the world premiere of Kansas City Swing by Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan (February 7-17), and Rohina Malik’s new play Unveiled (April 24-28). Afinal production, still to be decided, will conclude the season, May 9-19.
