Gwyneth Paltrow May Produce Stage Musical Based on the Go-Gos

Does Gwyneth Paltrow have the beat? The Hollywood Reporter has posted that the celebrated film star is in talks to develop a stage musical featuring the retro-pop tunes of the Go-Gos.
The all-female band’s hits include “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” and of course, “We Got the Beat.” And the musical is reportedly about both their music and the lives of the band members – think Jersey Boys, but with a female slant.
It could be years before this potential musical makes it anywhere, but it’s interesting to speculate on what it could look like.
Paltrow surprised many by her strong vocals for the film Country Strong and her guest appearances on FOX’s Glee. Would she consider starring in her own stage creation? And if not, what Broadway star do you think would make a great Belinda Carlisle?
