Memphis to Hit the Big Screen
Memphis will live on the big screen.
Belle Pictures, the Mark Gordon Company, and the Warner Brothers-based Alcon Entertainment will produce the film adaptation of Joe DiPietro and David Bryan’s 2010 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, according to ”Deadline.cpm’.
DiPietro, who won Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score, will pen the screenplay for the film, which follows the fictionalized life story of white radio disc jockey Huey Calhoon, who falls in love with both rock & roll and the electrifying black singer, Felicia Farrell.
No time frame or additional information have yet been announced.
