Stage and screen star Kathleen Turner participated in a lighting ceremony at the Empire State Building, in which she flipped the switch to light the world-famous icon’s tower lights blue in honor of the young men (ages 18-26) participating in The Doe Fund’s Ready, Willing & Able program.

As previously reported, Turner will soon reprise her starring role of Sister Jamison Connolly in the national tour of High, which she played on Broadway. The actress received Tony nominations for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, with other theater credits including The Graduate on Broadway and The Third Story Off-Broadway. Her many film credits include War of the Roses, Romancing the Stone, Prizzi’s Honor, Body Heat, and Peggy Sue Got Married.

The Doe Fund is a multi-disciplinary human services agency that helps 1,000 people every day to better their circumstances through programs paid transitional work.
