Peter Mattei to Continue in Metropolitan Opera’s Don Giovanni Through October 22; Mariusz Kwiecien to Return on October 25

Peter Mattei, who opened on October 13 in Tony Award winner Michael Grandage’s new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Metropolitan Opera, will also sing the performances on October 17 and 22, while originally announced star Mariusz Kwiecien, who injured his back at the production’s final dress rehearsal, will sing the role on October 25, 29, and 31, and November 3, 7, and 11.

The production, to be conducted by Fabio Luisi, also stars Marina Rebeka as Donna Anna, Barbara Frittoli as Donna Elvira, Mojca Erdmann as Zerlina, Ramón Vargas as Don Ottavio, Luca Pisaroni as Leporello, Joshua Bloom as Masetto, and Štefan Kocán as the Commendatore.
