Memorial for Theatrical Index Founder Price Berkley Set for October 19

A public memorial for the late Price Berkley, founder of Theatrical Index, will be held at Sardi’s on Wednesday, October 19, at 5:30pm. Berkley passed away at his home in Manhattan on Sunday, August 21.

This up-to-date weekly publication has since grown into a comprehensive, insiders’ guide to the “who, what, where and when of the American Theater.” He retired from the Index in 2007, but continued as a consultant until 2010.

His contributions to the theater community also included serving as a longtime member of the Tony Awards nominating committee. He was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame in 2003.
