Jeremy Brett Featured on Johnny the Priest, Marigold CDs

Jeremy Brett is featured on the original London cast recordings of Johnny the Priest and Marigold, now available on compact disc from Must Close Saturday Records.

With music by Antony Hopkins and book and lyrics by Peter Powell, Johnny the Priest centers on a young vicar attempting to improve the lives of teenagers. The cast also features Stephanie Voss and Bunny May. In addition to the tracks of the original cast recording, the disc features bonus material from the revues Cranks and New Cranks.

The Marigold original cast recording features Brett alongside Jean Kent and Sally Smith and the musical, by Charles Zwar and Alan Melville, centers on a woman who escapes from her dull hometown to the more metropolitan Edinburgh. The disc also features selections from the songwriters’ review Melvillainy.
