Bill Cosby, Matt Cavenaugh, Kate Shindle, Stephen Sondheim, et al. Set for Barnes & Noble Appearances

Barnes and Noble has announced additional special events scheduled for its stores in the near future, including a performance and CD signing by Kevin Earley, Jill Paice, Rebecca Luker, Matt Cavenaugh, and Mara Davi on October 18 at the store on the Upper East Side to celebrate the release of the original cast recording of Maury Yeston’s Death Takes a Holiday.


In addition, this location will host a performance and CD-signing of the new recording of Frank Wildhorn and Don Black’s Dracula on October 27. Scheduled to participate in this event are James Barbour, Rob Evan, and Kate Shindle. Also, author Neal Casey will discuss The Journals of Spalding Gray at that store on November 14.


Among the appearances scheduled for the chain’s Union Square location is celebrated composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim, who will appear on Wednesday, December 7 at 7pm, to celebrate the publication of Look, I Made a Hat: Collected Lyrics (1981-2011) with Attendant Comments, Amplifications, Dogmas, Harangues, Wafflings, Diversions and Anecdotes.

Also at Union Square is the previously announced one by Justin Vivian Bond on October 10. Bond will be celebrating the release of the CD Dendrophile, and will be joined by Sandra Bernhard, who has recently released her own recording, I Love Being Me, Don’t You? Appearances will also include Joan Didion (November 1), Wicked author Gregory Maguire (November 4), Umberto Eco (November 15), and Diane Keaton (November 16).

At the Fifth Avenue and 46th Street location, appearances will include Bill Cosby (November 2) and Regis Philbin (November 15).

Comedian Darrell Hammond will make an appearance at the store on 97 Warren Street on November 8, with other celebrities at that location including Bill Maher (November 14).
