Andrew Garland, Corinne Winters, et al. to Join Rufus Wainwright for New York City Opera Concert

Baritones Andrew Garland and Joshua Jeremiah, soprano Corinne Winters, and mezzo soprano Liza Forrester will join singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright for the previously reported New York City Opera concert, Who Are You New York?: The Songs of Rufus Wainwright, to be presented on Thursday, November 17 at 8pm.

The evening will feature the performance premiere of Wainwright’s All Days Are Nights: Songs for Lulu, which will be performed for the first time in its entirety as a song cycle. Wainwright will also sing compositions from his catalogue as well as other songs he has performed throughout his illustrious career.

Wainwright has released a series of acclaimed albums, including Poses, Release the Stars, and his Grammy-nominated Rufus Does Judy At Carnegie Hall. He has also composed a musical adaptation of Shakespeare Sonnets with director Robert Wilson, and his first foray into opera, Prima Donna, will be presented by NYCO at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House, February 19-25, 2012.
