Aaron Carter will assume the role of Matt in The Fantasticks, playing at the Snapple Theatre Center, on November 7. He succeeds Matt Leisy, who will remain with the company in the role of The Mute.

Carter is a triple Platinum Recording Artist. Among his albums are Another Earthquake, Aaron’s Party: Come and Get It, 2 Good 2 B True, and Oh Aaron.

A modern twist on Romeo and Juliet, the show, with music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Tom Jones, is the quintessential story of a boyfriend and girlfriend who quickly grow apart when they realize they want to experience the world. The score includes the hit songs “Try To Remember,” “Soon It’s Gonna Rain,” and “They Were You.”

Directed by Jones, The Fantasticks cast also includes Bradley Dean, Bill Bateman, Matt Dengler, MacIntyre Dixon, Tom Flagg, Addi McDaniel, Michael Nostrand, Dan Sharkey, Juliette Trafton, and Charles West.
