Vital Theatre in Negotiations to Take Over 45 Bleecker Lease; Pinkalicious The Musical to Play Cherry Lane Theatre Until October 24

Vital Theatre Company is in negotiations to assume the lease on the theater on 45 Bleecker Street, which was closed down by owner Fred Rogers earlier this week after tenant Louis Salamone failed to pay rent on the space.

In related news, Vital’s production of Pinkalicious, The Musical will play its October 16-17 and October 23-24 performances at the Cherry Lane Theatre. If a deal cannot be completed to assume the lease in the next two weeks, Pinkalicious will look for another venue.

With book and lyrics by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann, and music, lyrics and orchestrations by John Gregor, the musical is based on the Kann’s popular children’s book of the same title. The show focuses on a little girl who adores anything that is colored pink. Teresa K. Pond has directed the production, which has choreography by Dax Valdes and musical direction by Jad Bernardo.
