Tony Award Winner Tom Bosley Dies at 83

Tony Award winner Tom Bosley has died of a staph infection, according to published reports. He was 83.

Bosley won the Tony for his portrayal of Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia in the musical Fiorello! His other Broadway appearances included A Murderer Among Us, Catch Me If You Can, The Education of H*Y*M*A*N K*A*P*L*A*N, Cabaret and Beauty and the Beast.

Bosley received an Emmy Award nomination for his work as Howard Cunningham on the ABC sitcom Happy Days, and later starred on his own series, The Father Dowling Mysteries, which ran from 1987-1991.

Among his myriad other film and television credits are Murder She Wrote, The Love Boat, The World of Henry Orient, To Find a Man, Mix Company, and Gus.
