PHOTO FLASH: Molly Shannon Joins Kristin Chenoweth, Sean Hayes et al. in Broadway’s Promises, Promises

Actress Molly Shannon joined the Broadway company of Promises, Promises, at the Broadway Theatre, on Tuesday, October 12. She will play the part of Marge MacDougall through the show’s previously announced closing date of January 2, replacing Tony Award winner Katie Finneran, who departed the show due to her pregnancy.

The production is directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford. The musical features a book by Neil Simon and score by Burt Bacharach and Hal David and includes such hits as the title song, “Knowing When to Leave,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” along with Say A Little Prayer” and “A House is Not a Home.”

The cast also features Sean Hayes as Chuck Baxter and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth as Fran Kubelik, along with Tony Goldwyn (J.D. Sheldrake), Brooks Ashmanskas (Mr. Dobitch), Dick Latessa (Dr. Dreyfuss), Peter Benson (Mr. Kirkeby), Sean Martin Hingston (Mr. Eichelberger), and Ken Land (Jesse Vanderhof).

Shannon’s many film and television credits include Saturday Night Live, Glee, Kath & Kim, Superstar, Sex and the City, and The Music Man.
