Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka Become Parents of Twins

Broadway veterans Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are now parents of twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, according to published reports. The longtime couple used a surrogate to carry the babies, which were born on October 12.

Harris’ stage credits include Assassins, Rent, and All My Sons, and he recently directed the Hollywood Bowl’s concert staging of Rent. Harris also recently finished filming The Smurfs. He is a three-time Emmy Award nominee this year, for his portrayal of Barney Stimson on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, his hosting of the Tony Awards, and his guest spot on Glee.

Burtka played the role of Tulsa opposite Bernadette Peters in the Broadway revival of Gypsy and his other stage credits include Edward Albee’s The Play About the Baby and the musical The Opposite of Sex.
