Howard Fishman to Celebrate CD Trilogy with Concerts in New York and Washington, D.C.

Howard Fishman will celebrate the release of a trilogy of recordings with performances in New York City and Washington, D.C. The discs Better Get Right
, No Further Instructions
and The World Will Be Different will be released on October 26 on the Monkey Farm Label.

Fishman will offer a one-night only concert featuring material from the discs on October 27 at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington. From November 4-6, he will perform at the Abrons Arts Center in New York. For his engagements at this venue, he will perform each new record in its entirety, on successive evenings and with different ensembles.

The albums have been recorded simultaneously and each uses a different musical palette to bring a different geographic location and time period to life. Better Get Right features a New Orleans-style brass band and draws inspiration from the time when Fishman was a struggling street musician in the Big Easy during the mid-90’s.

No Further Instructions, is a song cycle about Fishman’s travels in rural Romania. Accompanying the disc is a 20-page booklet of photographs by New York Times travel writer Michael Benanav, Fishman’s boyhood friend who accompanied him on the trip.

On The World Will Be Different, Fishman confronts the dissolution of a passionate love affair. The recording features primarily Fishman’s own vocals, guitar, and piano, backed by sparse bass and drums.
