Harry Belafonte to Receive Andrew Goodman Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award

Actor, musician, activist and humanitarian Harry Belafonte will receive a lifetime achievement award from the Andrew Goodman Foundation. The award will be presented at a ceremony at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, on Sunday, December 5, at 3pm. Demarco Morgan, NBC News Anchor, will host.

The ceremony will also honor the recipients of the Foundation’s Hidden Heroes Awards, presented to individuals whose work exemplifies the Foundation’s origins and mission: promoting human dignity, civil rights and social justice through actions characterized by great personal initiative, selflessness, fearlessness, compassion, imagination, and achievement.

This year’s “Hidden Heroes” include Theatreworks USA’s artistic director, Barbara Pasternack, along with John Hope Bryant, executive Vice President and CAO, Operation Hope; Jennifer Papa, Founder, City Green; and Catherine Liever Shimony and Joan Shifrin, Global Goods Partners.
