Donna Lynne Champlin, Jill Paice, Max von Essen, et al. Set for York Theatre Company’s Only a Kingdom

Max von Essen and Jill Paice will headline the York Theatre Company‘s developmental lab presentation of Judith Shubow Steir’s Only a Kingdom, to be offered November 9-12. David Glenn Armstrong will direct the piece, which will have musical direction by Milton Granger and musical supervision and arrangements by Peter Mansfield.
The musical focuses on the love affair between King Edward VIII of Great Britain and the American divorcée Wallis Simpson, and the resulting scandal which forced Edward to renounce the British throne in 1936.
The company will also feature J.B. Adams, Becky Barta, Stephen Bienskie, Donna Lynne Champlin, Kerry Conte, Osborn Focht, James Judy , Daniel C. Levine, Nadine Malouf, Stephen Mo Hanan, Michelle Pruiett, Patrick Richwood, Graham Rowat, and Lynne Wintersteller.
