Charo has postponed her previously announced appearances Off-Broadway in Louise Roche’s Girl Talk: the Musical, playing at the Times Square Arts Center. It is expected she will appear in the show in early 2011.

The actress’ family commitments have necessitated the delay. She was to have appeared in the show November 3-14. However, she still plans to perform her scheduled engagement with the Philadelphia company. She will be seen in the musical, playing at the Kimmel Center’s Innovation Studio, November 16 – 21.

In the show, the fictional radio program Girl Talk is about to end its 10 years on the air — and during its final broadcast, two sparring hosts, their favorite sex therapist guest and the show’s neurotic producer learn something about the friendships they’ve developed. Girl Talk will feature hit songs from such recording artists as Jennifer Lopez, Aretha Franklin, Carrie Underwood, and the Pointer Sisters.

Charo has appeared in countless hit television shows, including more than forty-five appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and appeared on The Love Boat more than any other star. She also guest-starred on Sonny and Che and The Carol Burnett Show. Her film credits include Moon Over Parador and The Concorde: Airport ’79. Recently, Charo has been performing Charo in Concert: A Musical Sensation, at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and is also busy promoting her CD Charo and Guitar.
