Bing Crosby: The Crosby Christmas Sessions to Feature Previously Unreleased Material

Ten previously unreleased recordings will be featured on the album Bing Crosby: The Crosby Christmas Collection, to be released by Collectors’ Choice Music on November 9. The collection has been assembled with the assistance of the Bing Crosby Archive.

Among the songs featured on the 19-track collection are rare versions of “White Christmas,” “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” and “Jingle Bells,” as well as “Here Comes Santa Claus” with Peggy Lee; “Silent Night” duets with Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald; and Crosby’s 1977 medley of “The Little Drummer Boy” and “Peace on Earth,” sung with David Bowie.

In addition to this release, Collectors Choice music has announced it will issue the Crosby and Bowie duet as a vinyl single) and that it will also be releasing the 20-track Bing Sings The Great American Song Book
in its retail debut. Songs on this disc include “‘S Wonderful,” “Ol’ Man River,” “I’ve Got a Crush on You,” “Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone,” “Anything Goes,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore” and “That Old Black Magic.”

In related news, it has been announced that Infinity Entertainment Group will release a two-DVD collection, Bing Crosby: The Television Specials Volume 2- The Christmas Specials
on November 9. This two-disc set will feature Crosby’s first holiday special, his first color one, Bing Crosby and the Sounds of Christmas from 1971 and his final special, taped just five weeks before his death in 1977, Bing Crosby’s Merrie Olde Christmas. In addition to the uncut specials, the DVDs will feature bonus material, including Happy Holidays with Bing and Frank Show, a 1957 holiday episode of The Frank Sinatra Show filmed in color, and out-takes from the 1962 Bing Crosby Christmas special with Mary Martin.
