Tony Award winner Alan Cumming, Broadway veteran Billy Porter, and pop recording artist Ari Gold will join singer, songwriter, piano player and entertainer David Raleigh in a benefit for the Ali Forney Center. The event will be held The Hiro Ballroom at The Maritime Hotel on Monday, November 8, at 7pm.

In addition to the live concert, the evening will feature the premiere of the musical video of a new recording of “That’s What Friends Are For” that the four artists have created. The video is part of an initiative entitled The Friends Project, which also includes an EP featuring songs from each of the artists and a forthcoming documentary on the Ali Forney Center.

The Ali Forney Center was started in June 2002 in response to the lack of safe shelter for LGBT youth in New York City. It is now one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive organizations dedicated to homeless LGBT youth, and provides short and long term housing, free medical care, HIV testing, mental health services, showers, food, computer access and job training and placement at its drop-in centers in Chelsea and Brooklyn.

Tickets are $75 and $95, and can be purchased at www.thefriendsproject.org.
