Tom Jones to Join Carole Demas, Rita Gardner, Jean Louisa Kelly, et al. for Night of 1,000 Luisas

Tom Jones, lyricist, book-writer and director of The Fantasticks, will make a special appearance at the benefit concert entitled Night of 1,000 Luisas to be held at The Jerry Orbach Theater on Wednesday, November 4, at 7pm.

Featuring music by Harvey Schmidt, and book/lyrics/direction by Tom Jones, the musical is a captivating and simple romantic comedy about a boy and girl who fall in and out of love at the hands of their meddling fathers.

As previously announced, the concert will feature Rita Gardner, who originated the role Off-Broadway in 1960; Jean Louisa Kelly, who played Luisa in Michael Ritchie’s film version, as well as Alice Cannon, Glory Crampton, Karen Culliver, Carole Demas, Betsy Morgan, Marty Morris, Allison Munn, Sarah Rice, and Sara Schmidt. The evening will be directed by Kim Moore.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Bideawee, an animal welfare organization. Tickets, which are $45-$100, can be purchased by calling 212-921-7862.
