Peter Von Berg, Robert Carin, Karen Chapman, Stephen Innocenzi, Nika Leoni, Brandon Ruckdashel, Luiz Simas, and John Leonard Thompson will be featured in the world premiere in English verse of Alexander Pushkin’s Little Tragedies at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, November 3-14. Julian Henry Lowenfeld and Natalya Kolotova will direct.

Translated by Lowenfeld, the four short, humorous yet lyrical plays explore some of human nature’s inherent contradictions written by one of Russia’s most beloved writers. Presented by Green Lamp Press, the production will celebrate the 210th anniversary of Pushkin’s birth.

This production will also feature original songs set to Pushkin’s lyrics, composed by Lowenfeld, with musical direction by Luiz Simas. The creative team will include Stephen Innocenzi (fight direction), Lea Orth (art design), Melissa Schlachtmeyer (costume design), and Derek Wright (lighting design).
