Kia Corthron, Lisa Kron, Adam Rapp, et al. Set for Face to Face Discussion

Kia Corthron, Lisa Kron and Adam Rapp will take part Face to Face: Portraits in Theatre and Photography, a discussion with photographer Ken Collins to be held on October 26 at 7pm at New Dramatists. This Play Company event is being held in conjunction with an exhibition of Collins’ photographs from In Their Company, a series of black and white portraits of some of America’s most distinguished playwrights.

During the discussion, the playwrights will talk about how they approach creating portraits with words, while Collins will describe his work with a camera. In addition, the evening will feature brief excerpts from the playwrights’ work.

Collins’ book includes portraits of playwrights such as Neil Simon, Edward Albee, Wendy Wasserstein, Tony Kushner, and Marsha Norman, as well as interviews with the writers conducted by Victor Wishna. Copies of In Their Company will be available for purchase and signing.

The exhibition at New Dramatists will showcase new photographs by Collins of writer such as Kron, Young Jean Lee, Rapp, Sarah Ruhl, Edwin Sanchez, and Anna Ziegler.
