Obie Award winner Birgit Huppuch will star in poet Ariana Reines’ new theatrical work, Miss St.’s Hieroglyphic Suffering as part of Works & Process at the Guggenheim, November 15 and 16 at 7:30pm. Ken Rus Schmoll will direct.

Huppuch won her Obie for playing Miss St, the famed patient of Jung whose case study would become canonical in the literature of schizophrenia, in Reines prior play, Telephone, which also earned director Schmoll an Obie. The new piece is structured around the text of Telephone‘s second act. Following the performance, Reines will read from her work and take part in a discussion of it, moderated by the novelist Chris Kraus.

The creative team will include David Linton (sound design) and Florencia Vetcher and Sigfus Breidfjord (costume and set design).
