Don’t let the impending winter chill — or the chilly economic forecast — keep you at home, not with so many hot-hot-hot offerings at the city’s cabarets and clubs.
At The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, the always amazing jazz vocalist Paula West (through November 8) is followed by the annual engagement of the club’s star performer, Andrea Marcovicci (November 11-December 27), who is bringing her newest show Marcovicci Sings Movies II, chock-full of tunes such as “Cheek to Cheek,” “Swinging on a Star,” “It Might Be You,” and “When She Loved Me.”
Feinstein’s at the Loews Regency continues to serve up some of the biggest names in the business, including Laura Bell Bundy (November 1), George S. Irving with special guest Dina Merrill (November 3), Florence Henderson (November 5-8), Giada Valenti (November 10), Brian Stokes Mitchell (November 11-15), Miles Phillips (November 17), and the legendary Chita Rivera (November 18-29). Meanwhile, over at the swanky Café Carlyle, the very popular Steve Tyrell returns for his now-annual holiday engagement (November 4-December 31).
Joe’s Pub continues its year-long 10th anniversary celebration with such must-see shows as Broadway Loves Joe’s Pub (November 2), Don’t Quit Your Night Job (November 3), Freestyle Love Supreme (November 3), Justin Bond (November 9, 16), Julie Foldesi (November 10), William Finn (November 11 and 17), Ute Lemper (November 14-15, 22, 28-29), and the fabulous Julia Murney (November 24).
