Playwrights John Guare and Peter Shaffer will participate in The Dramatists Guild of America’s “DuoLogues” seminar series, on October 14 at 5:30 pm.

Guare will guide the conversation, asking Shaffer about the rigor, rewards and beauty of a life in the theater.

Shaffer is currently represented on Broadway with the revival of Equus, which stars Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths. His other plays include Five Finger Exercise, The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Black Comedy, Amadeus, Lettice and Lovage, Gift of the Gorgon, and Yonadab.

Guare will premiere his new play, A Free Man of Color, at the Public Theater later this season, in a production directed by George C. Wolfe. His other plays include House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation, Landscape of the Body, Bosoms and Neglect and the musicals Sweet Smell of Success and Two Gentlemen of Verona.
