Benanti, Larkin, Patinkin, Rush to Honor Patti LuPone at Primary Stages Gala

Laura Benanti, Leigh Ann Larkin, Mandy Patinkin, and Jessica Rush will perform in honor of Tony Award winner Patti LuPone at Primary Stages 24th Anniversary Gala Benefit, to be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on Monday, October 27. The event, which will feature a speech by Jerry Zaks, will also honor the Baruch-Routh-Frankel-Viertel Group.

LuPone is currently starring as Rose in the Broadway revival of Gypsy, for which she won the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Actress in a Musical and the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance. She previously won a Tony for Evita, and was Tony-nominated for Sweeney Todd, Anything Goes, and The Robber Bridegroom.

The Baruch-Routh-Frankel-Viertel Group is currently represented on Broadway by Hairspray, Gypsy, and Young Frankenstein, and has produced and general managed a wide range of plays and musicals on and off Broadway, in London and on tour including Stomp, The Producers, Company, Sweeney Todd, The Fantasticks, The Sound of Music, and Swing! Their shows have been awarded 35 Tonys, 46 Drama Desk Awards, 37 Outer Critics Awards, 4 Grammys, 8 Olivier Awards and 2 Pulitzer Prizes.

Primary Stages is currently presenting A Body of Water by Lee Blessing (September 30-November 9), and Love Child, written and performed by Daniel Jenkins and Robert Stanton (October 12-November 19). It will also produce Shipwrecked! An Entertainment — The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (As Told By Himself) by Donald Margulies (January 27-March 7), and Chasing Manet by Tina Howe (March 24-May 2) this season.
