The hit Broadway musical Xanadu will be recorded by PS Classics on October 29, with a commercial release set for the week of January 8. However, the CD will be available on the label’s website, the Xanadu website, and at its home, the Helen Hayes Theatre, in early December.

The recording will be produced by Jeffrey Lesser. It will feature the show’s current cast: Kerry Butler, Cheyenne Jackson, Tony Roberts, Mary Testa, Jackie Hoffman, Curtis Holbrook, Anika Larsen, Kenita Miller, and Andre Ward.

The show features music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar, including the pop hits “It’s Magic,” “Suddenly,” “Xanadu,” and “Evil Woman.” Other songs include “I’m Alive” and “Party All Over the World.”

Based on the 1980 film of the same name, Xanadu has a book by Douglas Carter Beane. The show is directed by Christopher Ashley, with choreography by Dan Knechtges. Eric Stern is musical director.
