Playwrights Tony Kushner and Steven Dietz will discuss the legacy of the late American playwright Arthur Miller at 7pm on Thursday, October 18 at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

The discussion is in conjunction with the exhibition Rehearsing The American Dream: Arthur Miller’s Theater, which continues at the Center through December 30. It includes more than 150 items, including the original manuscript of The Crucible and the FBI’s file on Miller.

Other events in conjunction with the exhibit include Up Against the American Dream, a reading by professors Charlotte Canning and Lucien Douglas that weaves together critical commentary and scenes from Miller’s plays, at 7pm on Thursday, October 25, and a lecture by David Savran, a professor at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City, entitled “Arthur Miller and the Broadway Canon” at 7pm on Friday, October 26.

Miller, who died in February 2005, was the author of such plays as All My Sons, Death of a Salesman, A View from The Bridge, After the Fall, and The Price (which is about to be revived by Long Wharf Theatre).
