MCC Theater has cancelled its previously announced production of the new musical The Black Suits, which was slated to end the company's 22nd Off Broadway season. A replacement for the show has not yet been named.

The Black Suits is written by Joe Iconis and Robert Maddock. It focuses on Chris, who pushes forward with his dream of fronting a successful band, and his best friend John as they struggle to make changes in their lives.

In a statement, MCC Executive Director Blake West said, "after investing two years of time and resources in The Black Suits, we feel we have gone as far with the project as we can. Obviously, we were passionate about the piece and wish its creators well on their journey to bring it to the stage. "

MCC's production of Jim Knable's comedy Spain opens tonight at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. For more information, visit
