Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei will star in the Flea Theater’s production of Will Eno’s Oh The Humanity and Other Good Intentions, to run November 3-December 22, with an official opening on November 29. The production, which will co-star Brian Hutchison and Drew Hildebrand, will be directed by Jim Simpson, the company’s artistic director.

This new work is made up of five short plays. Eno is best known for Thom Pain (based on nothing), which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. His other works include The Flu Season and Kid Blanco.

The production features set design by Kyle Chepulis, lighting design by Brian Aldous, costume design by Claudia Brown, sound design by Jill BC DuBoff, and video/projection design by Dustin O’Neill. Simpson’s many directorial credits include The Guys, Mrs. Farnsworth, and Crazy Mary.

Tomei has starred on Broadway in Salome and Wait Until Dark. Her stage credits also include We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay!, Waiting for Lefty, Rocket to the Moon, and Design for Living. She received the Academy Award for her work in My Cousin Vinny and will be seen on the big screen later this month in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead.
