Karen Mason will be joined by special guests Liz Callaway, Gregg Edelman, and The Accidentals for a new Christmas-themed concert, Karen Mason and Friends: Christmas in the City. The show will be presented for two performances at Symphony Space on December 22.

This year’s concert combines holiday classics and contemporary tunes by artists such as Joni Mitchell and Mel Tormé as well as original songs by Brian Lasser and Barry Kleinbort.

Mason, a widely regarded cabaret star, is also known for her roles as Norma Desmond on Broadway and in Los Angeles in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Sunset Boulevard, as well as originating the role of Tanya in Broadway’s Mamma Mia — a performance that earned her a 2002 Drama Desk nomination.

Callaway has been seen on Broadway in Merrily We Roll Along, Baby, Cats, Miss Saigon, The Three Musketeers and The Look of Love. She has also released three solo recordings. Edelman received Tony Award nominations for his performances in City of Angels, Anna Karenina, 1776, and Into the Woods and most recently appeared on Broadway in Wonderful Town. The Accidentals, an a cappella octet, have won numerous awards for their unique performances.
