Full cast and creative team have been announced for Theatre for a New Audience’s production of Adrienne Kennedy’s Ohio State Murders, October 27-November 18. The production, to be directed by Evan Yionoulis, will open officially on November 4.

As previously announced, Lisa Gay Hamilton will portray Suzanne Alexander, a fictional African-American writer who enters Ohio State University in the 1950s, unaware that the school conceals forces of racism. Years later, when she returns to the school to talk about the violence in her writing, a dark mystery unravels.

The cast will also include Cherise Boothe, Kobi Libii, Aleta Mitchell, Julia Pace Mitchell, and Saxon Palmer. The creative team will feature Neil Patel (sets), Emilia Sosa (costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting), Leah Gelpe (projections), and Fabian Obispo (music). Yianoulis’ other directing credits include Sore Throats and The Violet Hour.

Kennedy’s work includes Funnyhouse of a Negro, June and Jean in Concert and Sleep Deprivation Chamber, all of which earned her Obie Awards. Ohio State Murders was previously seen as part of Signature Theatre’s 1995-1996 season devoted to Kennedy’s work.
